The movie of the month and probably the best movie I’ve seen the last five years is Captain Fantastic.
Do not be fooled by the title, this is not some superhero movie.
Captain Fantastic stars Viggo Mortensen as the father of six kids, who lives in the woods and are very self-reliant. They meditate every morning, are super athletic and hunt their own food as the father is teaching them to read far above their level.
The movie revolves around the family having to leave their haven in the woods to go into civilisation to attend their mothers funeral.
It is very fascinating to see the way of their living in this movie and I agree with the fathers perspective on most things.
I love how the names of the children are names the parent came up with.
This is a very interesting film, and it left me thinking a lot days after watching it. It raises as many questions as it tries to answer. It gives the audience benefit of the doubt, where you will have your own thoughts about child raising, society and more. The movie kinda has something to say on both sides.
I highly recommend everyone to watch this inspirational movie the same way I did, which was without seeing the trailer first.
It has a very rich story. it’s funny, it’s sad and it will take you on a journey into thoughts. The actors are all great and the kids are fantastic.
Movie quote from my favourite character: Zaja - ¨You said Americans are under-educated and over-medicated.¨
